{"product_id":"16642-lawrence-weiner","title":"Lawrence Weiner","description":"For this series, the artist Lawrence Weiner created an artist's book in the same format (A6) and with the same number of pages (24) as his first contribution to documenta 5 in 1972, curated by Harald Szeemann. The partly handwritten instructions, statements, definitions, poems, and pictograms offer insight into his working methods and articulate his ideas for dOCUMENTA (13) with eloquence and poetry. Weiner has been a central figure in conceptual art since its beginnings, working in various media including video, books, performance, and installation. Lawrence Weiner (born 1942 in the Bronx, New York) studied literature and philosophy at Hunter College in New York. After an intensive engagement with the traditional arts of painting and sculpture, he developed his unique artistic approach using language in the late 1960s. His work has been presented in numerous solo exhibitions and major international group exhibitions. More recently, the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, K21, Düsseldorf, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, organized a retrospective of his work entitled AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE (2007\/08). Weiner participated in documenta 5 (1972), 6 (1977), and 7 (1982) and is also represented at dOCUMENTA (13) in Kassel in 2012. The artist lives in New York and Amsterdam.","brand":"Hatje Cantz Verlag","offers":[{"title":"Book (978-3-7757-2857-7)","offer_id":44503954030856,"sku":"9783775728577","price":4.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":false},{"title":"Ebook - PDF (978-3-7757-4982-4)","offer_id":44573666640136,"sku":"9783775749824","price":1.99,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true},{"title":"Ebook - EPUB (978-3-7757-3037-2)","offer_id":44573666672904,"sku":"9783775730372","price":1.99,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0582\/8948\/8049\/files\/odoo_9783775728577_48290052-7733-410d-8c64-f90e116ea573.jpg?v=1744109797","url":"https:\/\/hatjecantz.de\/en\/products\/16642-lawrence-weiner","provider":"Hatje Cantz Verlag","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
