51046-oliver-godow
Oliver Godow
Oliver Godow refers to his project on Oslo as a kind of "field study," for which he repeatedly visited the Norwegian capital over five years. The starting point was the comprehensive upheaval in which Oslo's city center finds itself: together with the massive construction site of the new National Museum, further new construction projects for the Munch Museum and the Deichmanske Library form an urban tangent of almost 1 km in planning, which is unparalleled in Europe. Godow is interested in the shapes and colors, the light and clarity, posters, corners, and bus stops. His photographs are cool, minimalist, poetic, and require no digital post-processing – they simply speak for themselves. He has already created series of this kind, in which he reduces topographical and concrete elements to mere surface effects, for cities such as Berlin, Frankfurt, Rotterdam, Winterthur, and Zurich.

Oliver Godow (born 1968, Lübeck) graduated from the Glasgow School of Art with a Master's in Fine Art.
