Ein großes, grünes Riesenrad, an dessen äußerem Rand bunte Oldtimer-Modellautos anstelle von Gondeln befestigt sind. Die Konstruktion dreht sich um einen massiven Betonturm, der oben eine kleine Gaststätte mit dem Schild Turmschenke beherbergt. Die surreale Szene findet auf einem verlassenen, asphaltierten Gelände statt, auf dem zerstörte Autos liegen. Es ist das Coverbild des Buches Wunderland von Frank Kunert.

Something strange is going on in the photographs by Frank Kunert (*1963 in Frankfurt am Main): the table set for two has been so cleverly built around a corner that neither of the diners has to see the other, yet they can both watch their own television.Frank Kunert (*1963 in Frankfurt am Main) began studying photography in1984 and graduated in 1987. After years of working as an assistant in various photography studios, he went out on his own in 1992. For his illustrated volume, Verkehrte Welt (Topsy-Turvy World, Hatje Cantz) he received the 2009 German Photo Book Silver Medal. Frank Kunert lives in Boppard.

Eine nächtliche Szene im Winter. Durch eine große, gewölbte Glastür blickt man von einer schneebedeckten Landschaft in ein warm erleuchtetes Esszimmer. Im Inneren steht ein festlich gedeckter Tisch, doch der Schnee reicht bis in den Raum hinein, wo ein einzelner leerer Stuhl im Vordergrund steht.

He visually alters the common understanding of the concept in a precise manner, turning familiar ideas upside down, giving them a three-dimensional form; in this way, he makes them comprehensible in the truest sense of the word.
